About Us
This site compares 41 places to stay in Edinburgh, built entirely from live listing data rather than hosted stays or press visits. The roster covers hostels in the Old Town and New Town, budget hotels around Haymarket, Leith and the airport corridor, guesthouses in Southside and Newington, and aparthotels and apartments across the city (see Princes Street Hotels). Thirty-three of the stays publish a from-price, running from £10 for a dorm bed to £163 for a room, and every figure is shown with the low-season, midweek November basis behind it.
How The Stays Are Researched
Each of the 41 listings was compared from live listing data: the nightly rate, the rating on the platform's own scale, the review count, and practical details such as kitchens, lifts, luggage storage and 24-hour reception. Nobody slept in the rooms or inspected the buildings. Ratings are kept on their original scales, out of 5 or 10 depending on the platform, and are never converted or ranked against each other.
What This Site Does Not Do
This site does not take bookings, change reservations or handle payments. It also does not hold rooms, quote guaranteed rates or speak for any property. When you choose a stay, you book on the live listing itself, and any question about your reservation goes to the platform you booked through. The comparison exists to narrow the choice, not to replace the booking page.
How The Prices Are Read
Every from-price is a low-season, midweek November rate for a double room sleeping two adults, except hostel prices, which are for a single dorm bed. A from-price is a guide, never a quote. Rates rise sharply in August during the Fringe, at Hogmanay and on Six Nations rugby weekends, and eight listings show no figure at all, so their current price appears only on the booking page.
